Do S Waves only occur in Coastal Regions?
It was on a test and I wasn't sure? False right?

- P-Waves travel through everything and S waves travel through everything but liquid.
- No. S waves have a better chance of being lost in coastal regions. S waves can not go through liquids. P waves can.
- When the p wave travels from sea it reachess directly without any delay to the shore stations. The S waves gets reflected at sea bottom surface and it is redirected to inner earth coree and again getting reflected from liquid core.If the strength is less diminishes. But if it is strong it comes late to the shore .This is what I observed during my Stay in Singapore .Even though the distance of epicenter was only 500 K/M from Singapore I noticed the S wave arrived only after 3 and half minutes.I have studied the reason and came to above conclusions.
