How have humans impacted coastal regions/locations?

I have a Geography exam tomorrow and I need to know this in depth, thank you and 10 points! :)

1. I would point out how we have positively impacted coastal regions by putting up shops and stores along the beach. I bet none of your class mates will answer with that!
