Is America extremely religious outside of the coastal regions?

- I think that there are more cults inland, areas away from large cities and prodiminate mainly in isolated areas, and also are lot near the south
- Some states are some states arent . Parts are parts arent . Plus there are different religions so which are you talking about . Catholic I imagine ? Tons of baptists in the south. Texas is EXTREMELY religious (though im not sure what religion dominates , and could never be called COASTAL , for obvious reasons. If I had to pick the most religous as in population , I would pick the east and the south.
- The most religious areas of the U.S. aren't so much the coastal areas as the deep south and (to a lesser degree) the rest of what were once the original 13 colonies. I'd have to say that the further west you go (very generally speaking) the less religious people are. Large cities tend to be better educated, and less religious, than rural areas, but the U.S. still has a HUGE amount of rural area. Utah and Arizona are also quite religious because of large Mormon populations, but nothing rivals the deep south in the U.S. for religiousity. It's more complicated than that, but that's at least a quick-and-dirty description of how I see it as a person raised in the south who now lives in the Pacific Northwest U.S.
- Yes, especially the deep south.
