- compare to what?
- Those are pretty big areas you're asking about, and it's hard to generalize. British Columbia has two portions, more or less, as far as weather goes. The coast regions tend to be cooler in summer but relatively dry, winters are warmish but cloudy and rainy with occasional snow. The interior areas tend to be drier and colder in winter, very dry and hot in the summer. The Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario have a lot of variation too but on the whole there are more extremes than in BC. Parts of those areas can get very cold indeed in winter, and it's a damp cold so you really feel it. There is certainly more snow, winter will be colder and longer, summer will be shorter and drier except for thunderstorms which are rare on the BC coast, more frequent in the BC interior.
