I can see the Atlantic ocean from the 2nd floor of my house, does that make me an expert on maritime law?

Sarah Palin has made it clear that proximity to something gives you experience and expertise in the broader policy area of that thing. So I'd like to explore what subject matters I might be an expert in just by virtue of being physically close to a representative of that subject matter. For example, right now I'm close to a computer. Does that mean I can be an IT professional?

  2. I rode out Hurricane Ike and didn't get my free $2000 FEMA Mastercard. Wait...what was the question? Oh yeah. I went to college and I'm an IT professional.
  3. I live near a nuclear plant so I have a handle on nuclear energy.

  5. No, but it makes you more familiar with the tides than someone who lives in Kansas.

  9. The Alaska Air National Guard of which she is Commander, is one of the first responders to Russian intrusion into United States Air Space. People make so much of the shared boarder statement that they miss the obvious (sigh) To answer YOUR question no, but I bet you know when a hurricane is approaching and what to do, which is more than you can say for the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans and the former Democrat Governor of Louisiana!
  10. I thought that you were talking about Hillary Clinton there for a minute.
