Is frontal rainfall just as likely over continental areas as it is over maritime areas?

Public Comments

  1. Ishyy, the air in a warm front has moved across perhaps half an ocean before being over an area: whether it is a maritime or continental one, doesn't make a difference, does it? One thing, though, is that when a low pressure center moves from the sea to land, it looses some of its momentum because of the drag from the terrain. Especially if it is high terrain, like mountains.
