Is the Maritime Academy area in Vallejo safe?

1. Yes, near bridge and hwy 80, about 10 blocks north is unsafe area, see http://www.bayareavisit.com/besttrips.html
2. Yes. It is very safe. There are certain areas of Vallejo that aren't, but the Academy itself is very safe. They have their own security and the gates are locked at night. I lived on Campus and off campus off redwood street and never had any problems.
