Can someone tell me what to put on a topographic map?

I have a science project due friday and i hav to make a topigraphic map over angel falls. im confused on the scales and what the colors mean. please help !

  2. The main feature of topographic maps are contour lines and shaded relief. Click on the google map link below for the contour (elevation) lines and the green shaded relief of Angel Falls. (X the box out to see the map better.) Google has done most all of the work for you. http://maps.google.com/maps?t=p&q=5.9675,-62.535556&ie=UTF8&ll=5.969424,-62.53521&spn=0.038585,0.054932&z=14 Draw the waterfall (it drops 1400m-600m on the map) and maybe the river & stream that leads up to the falls. Draw the contour lines and the shaded relief. To find the stream, switch to the Google 'map' and zoom out, or find it on another map. That's all you need.
